What is SALT?
SALT is a biblically based and cross-centered support group designed to educate and bring healing to men who find themselves trapped in habitual sexual sin. The groups, material, and teaching explore the cycle of sexual addiction, root causes, and triggers of sexually compulsive behaviors as well as the biblical solutions for reclaiming our freedom from sin and its strongholds. Participants of SALT are expected to be highly committed to confidentiality and maintaining good boundaries. Those who participate will enter into a high accountability environment.

"We cannot access God's strength until we have given up our own ways of coping. In trying not to sin, we sin."
Who is SALT for?
  • Men who struggle in mind, action, or conscience with the force of their sexuality
  • Heterosexual strugglers & homosexual strugglers - with the understanding that this group is focused on intervention in the addictive cycle and not healing gender brokenness

How is SALT presented?
SALT is a 20-lesson program taught in a closed group format, over a 20 week period. The leaders have been trained and a confidentiality policy is in place to help ensure trust and safety in the group. Each meeting includes worship, teaching, ministry, and small groups.

Hope's SALT group meetings are typically set for Tuesdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Mosaic Campus in Newport News. An application process is required. The cost of SALT is $125.00. Payment plans are available.

"The Christian community is designed by God to be an island refuge in a sea of dark and turbulent sin. It is in the context of community that our lives begin to take on lasting change."
