What exactly are "LifeGroups"?LifeGroups are small gatherings of new and old friends that meet in an intimate gathering for approximately two months. Some groups study an issue together while others join to explore a common interest. No matter what the topic of the gathering is this is a time to build closer relationships and share deeper parts of your life.
Why did you choose the name LifeGroups?
These groups gather primarily in homes and join together around a desire to share a portion of their life together.
Am I responsible for bringing anything or doing anything?
A participants' responsibility is really determined by your host. Don't be afraid to email a host and ask questions before joining a group!
I have kids, though. Can I bring them?
This will be different from group to group. Each host will have a childcare plan included in the advertising of their group (whether that be childcare is provided, parents must find childcare, or parents can bring children with them).
I'm kind of new and don't hardly know anyone. Will I feel out of place?
No. These groups are formed on a strict 2 month basis, so, you will be joining at the same time as everybody else; they will be as new to the group as you are. We hope maybe you'll make some lasting connections.
How often do LifeGroups meet?
Three times a year people open up their homes for a 2-month stretch of time, mostly with weekly meetings. During the off-season we encourage you to get involved in New Community and other ministries.
What time do they start and how long are they?
This will change from group to group; check out the info. sheet for specifics.
How many people are at each LifeGroup?
It depends on the host homes that session and what their capacity is. It can vary anywhere from 6-40 people or more. You'll see on the sign-up sheets how many people that host is accepting if you'd like to know if the home your choosing will be a small or large gathering.
Do I really need to sign up?
Yes! The host homes are often limited in capacity. Individual hosts will let you know when their group reaches its capacity.
How do I host a LifeGroup in my home?
If you are interested in hosting, email marydawncarrier@gmail.com with what you would like your groups focus to be and in what session you would like to host. *Please note, all group topics will be pending approval of Hope's pastors.* She'll help you get your ducks in a row and let you know the dates we need your information by in order to advertise well for the upcoming LifeGroups Session.
