Ongoing and Direct Mission Support
Hope provides mission support through the cooperative program of the Southern Baptist Convention. In addition we provide direct support to the four mission partnership below. You can give directly to any of these efforts by designating your gift with the name of the mission project. You are also encouraged to select one and support it on a monthly basis.BOSNIA
Population: 3.9 million
The 250,000 deaths of the Bosnian tragedy have left deep scars and an abiding hatred between communities that once lived together, spoke the same language and even intermarried. In 1991, there were only 3 congregations, but by 2000, the Christian community had grown to 29 congregations with 700 people attending services. Evangelicals have gained credibility as the only ones able to bridge the gulf between ethnic groups. Only a very small percentage of the population has ever been clearly presented with the claims of Christ and the need for personal repentance and faith.
STEVE & KIM REITZ
The Reitz family has been ministering in Bosnia for almost 8 years. While there, they have built genuine bonds with the community, constructed local homes after the war, constructed a local community center (named Hope!) in Grazde, and started a church. They also host sports and English camps, welcoming missions interns to work with them. Steve & Kim have three girls: Lauren, Jenna, and Rebekah. One of Hope's members, Joshua Tombley, spent 6 weeks in Bosnia the summer of 2006, serving alongside the Reitz family in sports camps and food distributions, among other outreaches. INDIA
India will soon surpass China as the most populous nation in the world, and currently contains one fourth of the people on earth who have never heard the gospel. Poverty in India’s slums and rural villages is among the worst in the world.
SANKALA PETER SUBBAIAH
Indian pastor Peter Subbaiah is making a difference in Andhra Pradesh, with an orphanage and sponsorship for the elderly (typically widows) to be placed in group homes. Hope’s contributions are relied upon and have a far-reaching effect through Peter’s ministries. Support from Hope Community Church has enabled Indian pastor Peter Subbaiah to create a “Hope Village” as part of the tsunami relief efforts in early 2005.
